The repertoire for solo guitar is extremely vast and spans several centuries and continents. From the Renaissance comes delightful ancient songs and dances. The Baroque period is a treasure-trove of well-known classics by composers such as Bach, Vivaldi, Handel and others. Familiar tunes by Mozart and Beethoven stem from the classical period. The 19th century features romantic gems and serenades which glitter and sparkle, and from the last century comes the most diverse spectrum of music such as Jazz, Latin and Spanish/Flamenco plus plenty of World music and some contemporary pop standards.

Duncan enjoys using a beautiful, realistic sounding, Yamaha electro-classical guitar for gigs as it is capable of superior sound quality and volume for background music settings. In addition to this he uses a quality PA system to enhance his music and has a smaller battery-powered amplifier for venues without power facilities. Duncan regularly performs with the outstanding young violinist Dora Piekart, together they form Duo Diavolo. Following much success as a professional ensemble ideal to perform background music for functions and corporate events the two musicians decided to become a serious chamber ensemble with a view of performing recital repertoire. Duo Diavolo's bring energy and passion into every performance. Their concerts promise a wide range of musical styles from original compositions, up-beat world music, cool Jazz, Tangos, Latin standards, funky French music, Celtic favourites and of course the more traditional classical repertoire. The duo is ideal for functions held outdoors or in large spaces as the sound of the violin is able to suitably carry. Apart from providing background music, Duo Diavolo are also in demand as guest artists at concerts and recitals.
