Duncan's interest in composition began whilst in highschool, and over the years, this interest has developed into a passion. Duncan has received composition instruction by renown composers such as Lindsay Vickery, Cat Hope and Iain Grandage. Though familiar with writing for a variety of instruments and ensembles, these days Duncan tends to focus his creative energies on writing for guitar, or ensembles including guitar. Duncan's compositions have enjoyed much local success and his music is increasingly being performed by a wide range of local artists, ensembles and music organisations.
